On March 4th 2023, at the annual St. Davids Day banquest, Urdd Gobaith Cymru received the Arts in Excellence award for its success in fostering the arts in Wales by providing national and local opportunities throughout Wales and encouraging young people to participate in the arts at home and abroad and through the Welsh language, and in recognition that the Urdd Eisteddfod attracts thousands of young competitors annually in the performing, visual and computer arts.
