Scholarships

The Welsh Society of Philadelphia awards annual scholarships based on the following criteria:

​

  • Academic merit

  • Documented Welsh descent

  • Studying at the undergraduate or post graduate level

  • Living or attending school within the Greater Delaware Valley or Eastern Pennsylvania

​

Participation and activity within the Welsh-American community may be a deciding factor when choosing between otherwise equally qualified candidates

Academic Records

Provide an official transcript of your academic records using one of these options:

  • Upload a file containing your academic records when applying using the online application form

  • Email a file containing your academic records

  • Mail a notarized copy of your academic records

SAT or ACT Scores

This is only required for applicants who have not yet completed a full year of college.
 

Provide a copy of your SAT or ACT scores using one of these options:

Letters of Recommendation

Provide two letters of recommendation on your behalf from your professors or teachers using one of these options:

  • Professors or teachers can email the recommendation from their official school email address

  • Professors or teachers can mail the recommendation in sealed envelopes

Statement of Welsh Ancestry

Include any details of participation in a Welsh activity or organization
